Carol takes the Pepsi challange

Did you know at Chuck-A-Rama you can have both Pepsi and Coke?
They are both delicious and  I'm going to do this every time!

After the wedding...June 17-21, 2012

After Diane's wedding, Raquel, little Riley, Heather, and I got in with Gordon and Tammy and left for an extended pool party in Las Vegas. (Gary had to go back and write the state photo test.)We went to one buffet, shopped for groceries and meant to go a few other places but could not tear ourselves away from the pool!
We all weighed in before and after the buffet. We pretty much gained 3 lbs each!
Here we are in our dyed pants.
Don't you think the photographer should have made me look as skinny as Heather?
Even though she's "not really a dessert person" this is Heather's first plate!
Does Gordon look amazed or jealous?
Thank goodness this was her second plate.
You have already seen previous blog post(s) of what my plate(s) looked like-total crab legs!

Oh yeah, we played a lot of games. Discussed the world's problems and collected a few coins too.
Tammy held boot camp one night.

 Diving for dice.
Liar's dice in the pool on floating boards.
Yes, it was hard to get out of the pool but we had to do a craft; hand painted silk scarves.
Dive in movie on the last night.
And a good time was had by all.THANKS Gordon and Tammy.

Diane Cramer marries Hans Hansen June 16, 2012

Oh Andrea! That's why the line of Diane's dress looks so good in the first picture!

The other happy couple.

Gary goes to photo conference in Logan...

...and Carol and Heather play all day while Jake studies and works.

Our main activity was dying white pants with jade green and robin egg blue  fiber reactive dyes.
We rode the bus with all our supplies (I think we looked like cleaning ladies on our way to work),
to do this in Heather's art class room (just in case), but everything went well!
Since we slept in Heather and Jake's living room we spent our hotel money on going out to dinner every night. This is a picture at The Owl, the only place we checked out and didn't eat at! No pictures of Texas Roadhouse, giant burritos at Cafe Sabor or  the underground pizza place.

Quilt group at Deb's

Deb always cooks us wonderful stuff, just look at these shrimp cocktails!
Donna brought this quilt with a fun backing for show and tell-she made it since the May retreat!
I like how she used dotted fabric where most people would have used plain white.

June 8th the guest rooms are full!

First Heather made plans to come down to her friend Polly's wedding, next Nancy needed a place to stay the night before the Provo half marathon, then Alice decided to come down and visit Laura (she was the last reservation so she got the couch-sorry Alice). The only time we could see Cameron was on his lunch hour so we all met at Sammy's.

Table upcycle

I bought this table at Savers for 9.99. I (with the help of Gary who cannot let go of a spray paint can once you hand it to him) sanded it down, painted it and changed the handle. It took 3 cans of spray paint to cover the green, so when you do a project like this, figure in the cost of the paint too!

Notice those little knob things are gone too, Gary thought they looked like like buttons and sanded them off!

Nestle Race 2012

Again this year every one is a winner at the Nestle race-just less of us in attendance this year-come join us next year! For some reason the had many boxes of string cheese this year so we came home with a lot of cheese and a little candy, we all had plenty of Hagen Daas while we were there!
Cameron got 12th in his age group and 67th overall with a time of 21.37. Gary came in third in his age group, 241 overall with a time 25.15.
