July 2012

The first week in July I made flowers for a country style wedding (Allysha Gayle) The main thing she wanted was to have scabiosa pods in each arrangement. I forgot to take pictures of the corsages and bouts. Which is too bad because they were fun with the pods in them.

On the 3rd of July Gary, Cameron and Neal and Laura and I walked the streets of Provo til one am-it's always a party in Provo. We ate lots of free tubs of Dryers ice cream, ate pizza and people watched. We didn't sleep over this year but came back bright and early on the 4th for the road race and parade. We went to Cramer's for the traditional fried chicken; I was so tired I could hardly talk to anyone! Then we zipped up to Cal's house for a Brubaker party. Scott and Rebecca came home from being mission presidents in the Netherlands and came straight from the airport to the pool party. All that action and I have only two lame pictures I took at Cal's!

That week-end we went to Logan for the Cruise-in on main street. A little ice cream from Charlies and a little pink hair for the end of the summer.

Sunday July 8th, we went to Scott and Rebeccas homecoming talks and Heather wore this cute outfit.

The next week-end after our quilting class at American quilting Sandy Call and I went to Nordstrom's because a pair of boots I had my eye on finally went on sale. Sandy found some clothes too. We both liked these sandals and came home and found them on-line for $35 instead of $69 so I got black ones and Sandy got brown and black ones!
That night July 14th Gary, Cameron and I went to the Steel Days "Cruise-in" in American Fork. Got to get all this local summer fun in!

The 3rd week on Wed. I went to the Utah Valley quilt fair on the way to  Kim's in Santaquin for a card group lunch, Thursday we skipped a day at Fish Lake with the Keele's to help Dad clean out his garage some more.
Friday Gary's parents took us and Garys siblings to the days of 47 rodeo.
Mike, Cathy, Doris, Delile, Gary, Velda, Dean.

Heather and Jake came down and went to an Owl's game while we were at the rodeo. Gary made us brownies which kept us up til midnight, but did not keep us from going to the Provo bakery and The Chocolate the next day after the ward breakfast (July 21).

The fourth week Alice came down and I dragged her to my book group and my art group (July 25). Lots of people told us we sound alike but do not look alike.
Imagine sitting in a group of real artists and painting tennis shoes- well they are a friendly group and do not care- I think they'll all get some white or black shoes to work on now!

We hadn't had enough fun yet so when Alice went back to Logan I went with her. Heather, Alice and  I went hiking, to yoga, and aqua aerobics. We also made a sewing room for Alice in Laura's old bedroom. We went to a quilt shop, did a ton of errands, and went to a (back to school clothes) shopping outing with Alice's school teacher friends.

Heather tried on what I call bathrobe dresses. I ended up with these things, striped maxi skirt, striped "scarf fabric" shirt, brown skirt, orange sweater and multi scarf. Heather said she was proud of me for actually buying stuff and then admitted it was her self-imposed 4 month shopping moratorium that kept us from ending up getting distracted and shopping for her.

Heather and Alice did a straightening treatment on my hair too. I don't quite look like the girl on the box though.
Gary and Cameron fiber glassing a speaker thing for Cameron's "new" jeep.
