Flag Day

I think it is awesome that the scouts put these flags on our yard for free 7 times a year!
FYI:  We have flag day  to commemorate the day, June 14, 1777,
that the USA adopted the flag, it is a "national" day however it is not a federal holiday.
I love America!

Re-model update

The island is underway.

American Quilting block of the month

Here is what they say it should look like:
No thanks to all those scallops and yo-yo's. Here is what mine might look like:

Primary is funny

These are the Wood brothers, Anson and Nathan. Nathan is trying to help Anson get his costume tie tied so he can help in sharing time. Usually Nathan is shouting the out the correct answer to every question and Nathan is crawling around under his chair. Last week Nathan had the legs of his pants pulled up past his knees and Joanie Smith who was doing sharing time said "Nathan pull your pants down!" Well the kids got a kick out of that!

Funny this week- Joanie was asking for some examples of martyrs and Zoe Gayle said "Danial was almost one."

Shopping with Heather

One week ago Heather and I went to Wal-Mart and did some serious price matching. We got done in time to go to my quilt group at Debs house. here are some pictures of her great yard.

This is my friend that has the designer chicken coop-complete with wallpaper inside.

Later that day Heather helped me buy this:

I don't think it's going to make my yard look like Deb's, in fact I think it looks quite nice empty...

On Wednesday I went to my card group at Kim Hunsaker's house.
Tina Cragun, Debbie Winward, Kim, Debbie Clement, Me ,Ashley Clement Wilder

We were supposed to bring a pot luck dish-here is what I brought:
All that coupon shopping paid off-all this tape (and many more rolls and a bunch of other stuff too) was free! I knew there would be enough food. They loved it -afterwards I took them all to Staples to use the $3 off of anything coupons that Heather had given me. We had a fun time getting free scissors, paper towels, pens and notepads. I also found some dishwasher soap with phosphates in it still on their shelf- Happy day-clean dishes again!

Next I stopped at the Down East tent sale and picked up some cardigans for $5 each!

It's probably time to stop shopping! Easy enough because I don't have a car today -Gary is at the Summer Photo teacher conference in Ogden and Cameron is at work at his new job at Taylor's Bike shop. Speaking of cars- Gary and Cameron took the SVO Mustang to Miller Motor Sports and had a fun time driving around the track last Wednesday night.

Nesltle Race

Last Saturday-Family tradition-The Nestle Race in Springville.
 Cameron, Gary, Heather, Jake

I found my friend, Helen Duncan, and walked the race course.I'm really good at taking my own picture too.

Everybody's a winner at the Nestle Race.
Hope to see more of the family there next year (and by more of the family I mean you Raquel and Brady.)

Later that day we went to the rental house and everyone was so nice to pitch in and clean up the yard. I didn't have my camera when Jake got in the garbage can and started jumping so we could fit more in. I don't have pictures of us at the driving range that night either but we had a fun day!

Happy Fabric!

Today my friend Stacee Pitt and I went fabric shopping for fabric to share for the "happy" quilts we are going to make. Oops- looks like she ended up with all the golden yellows- we are going to split it all up (with Deb McFarland and Sandy Call too) next Thursday. A few of these were in our stash already. Linda Bye is coming too but she is making her quilt with a brown background.
Here is a preview of parts of the "happy quilt". The blue is for some birds!

And I found these Cherry Fizz  fabrics for my collection. Yes, I collect cherry fabric- but only ones I like.

Waffle Burger anyone?

Last Saturday Gary and Cameron got desperate for some hamburger buns so they invented waffle burgers. Elvin, Andrea, Jeff and Diane came over to play games- they declined a waffle burger but they were obviously hungry because we ate this much popcorn...
